Property Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the ongoing management and operation of a commercial portfolio
  • Oversee building staff and contractor activities
  • Perform financial control activities including the development of annual operating budgets, performing monthly budget analysis and re-forecasting as necessary, 100% rent collection and meeting annual targets
  • Liaise with the tenants on day-to-day property management issues
  • Ensure compliance with any and all applicable government regulations
  • Develop and maintain preventative and corrective maintenance schedules; and oversee maintenance activities
  • Manage sub-contractor activities for goods and services including preparation of tender documents, tender and bid analyses, negotiating best possible terms and preparing contract documents and monitoring sub contractor performance
  • Respond to Tenant billing inquiries and related correspondence
  • Approve and sign-off of monthly rent rolls
  • Provide recommendations of account write-offs for senior management approval
  • Prepare strategic analysis of properties considering financial indicators, market analysis and long-term project plans
  • Monitor service level request from Tenants and ensure that they are within the scope of the leases
  • Perform other duties, as assigned


  • Minimum 3-5 years of property management experience
  • Post-secondary education in related field
  • RPA designation an asset
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships – internal and external
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Management skills relating to leadership, performance management, employee relations, and tenant relations
  • Strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge and understanding of budgeting principles and processes in accounting procedures and account reconciliation
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
